In 2017, Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee released Despacito and it became the most-streamed song in just the space of six months. The single Despacito which was a mix of reggaeton and pop was not only a way to bring new focus to reggaeton, but also brought more attention to Latin music. In 2015 there were only two predominantly Spanish-speaking songs in Billboard's Top 100 and in 2016 there were four. At the peak of Despacito's popularity, however 19 mostly Spanish tracks made the Top 100, and in 2020 there were 41 of them. Justin Bieber's bilingual remix Despacito was released in the year. After that, some of the most popular artists started collaborating with reggaeton singers. Drake collaborated with Bad Bunny to create MIA (2018) as well as Madonna worked with Maluma to create Medellin. The gradual mainstreaming of reggaeton became a concern for some performers by 2020. Rauw alejandro and a younger generation wanted to preserve the style. He incorporated electronic dance styles as well as other styles into his music.
